[Salinwika] WINK-UP! 2013-03 / Hiroto

The person cosplaying in this edition is Hiroto. Beforehand he said he would like to try transforming into [Dracula]. Would you mind if this Dracula sucks your blood!?

— We had a talk with Hiroto where he said, “I’d like to be a vampire," so we’ve made that into reality now.

[Right. I thought I would like to try becoming a vampire character for once. But the image of vampires in my mind is the one from [Bakemonogatari (Monster Stories)] (a fantasy novel by Nishio Ishin). And from there, Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade.]

— Th-that’s a long name (bitter smile).

[Yes (lol). And then there’s also the strong impression I got from the [vampire] Morrigan Aensland (CAPCOM’s 2D-player fighting game). When we speak of vampires, in my mind I think of women.]

— But aren’t mostly vampires are men?

[Eh!? Is that so?]

— Isn’t that just Hiroto’s wish?

[Ahahaha. You’re saying that the ones getting their blood sucked are women, right (lol). But if I had to choose from those two options, I would rather suck blood than being sucked (lol). That is if I had to choose. But when did vampires first appear? (Searches using the PC in front of him) From the year 1730! Vampires are said to be one of the three great monsters. The others are werewolves and Frankenstein. Vampires are also known as the atrocious criminal. They are like kings of the undead. In the kingdom of monsters, they seem to be on top of the class. “The Undead” the imperfect death. Oh! That’s cool! (Sticks out his right hand) The imperfect death. Sounds like I’m reciting a technique name! But you can’t kill it, being an imperfect death (lol). If you ask me what I would like to do if I became a vampire, there’s nothing in particular (lol). But I am interested about them. Let me search more info about them. (While staring at the PC) Oh! Kyonshii is the Chinese version of vampire! They extend their arms in front of them as a form of their rigor mortis! I didn’t know that! The physical appearances of vampires differ according to each country’s beliefs, I suppose. Even though I’m only cosplaying and posing as a vampire, but it turns out I’m actually learning something.]

— There’s nothing useless in life. It’s called romance.

[Speaking of romance, did you watch the TV show about the giant squid? (The special feature program that was on air in NHK and reached over 16% ratings) To say what was impressive about it, it is amazing that a number of scientists have spent their lives just to take pictures of the squid. That is certainly romance, right. Even though many aspects have developed, even though mankind has come to know various things about the universe, the deep waters are still very much unknown. I think that was the point that left a deep impression in me. I really want to learn more about various things.]
